Oakdene was recently awarded an Ofsted "Good" rating!

At Oakdene, we provide a caring, stable and nurturing place young people can call ‘home’ in every sense of the word. Our staff and Management ensure that we work with a relaxed and calming approach therefore catering for the individual needs of children and young people in an environment conducive to improving outcomes. In consultation with all local authorities, we can provide medium to long-term residential care with an ethos of stability and we can also provide short term placements dependent on the existing service-users.

We will consider requests for planned and emergency admission of children and young people of either gender, and we are registered to accommodate 5 young people at any given time. 

Oakdene can provide placements for children and young people between the ages of 10-17 years of either gender and Impact Risk Assessments are carried out for each new young person that comes to live with us. This is to ensure that the placement will be right for both that individual and the young people already living with us. All our placements are planned, reviewed and monitored according to the individual’s needs, age, functioning skills and Care Plan – with a huge emphasis placed on partnership-working to improve as many outcomes as is possible during their time with us.  

It is our ultimate aim to create an environment whereby the young person can feel safe to express themselves, learn to trust adults that are approachable and unreservedly respect them as individuals in their own right. As part of our wider strategy, we always take active steps in restarting the natural process of growth and development – alongside equipping our all service-users with the necessary skills and tools by which to go on and become valued members of society.
